The Giant's Causeway
The 'Giant's Causeway' is a natural phenomenon in Northern Ireland. What you see are basalt columns that seem to interlock - about 40,000 of them, stretching into the North Atlantic. It was caused by an ancient volcanic eruption.
The hexagonical column tops form stepping stones that disappear into the sea.
