Longing For a New Missional Reality

Re-starting a Movement

Category:

My longing is that we may see in local churches join in the creation of a missional movement, comprised of new mission-shaped atmosphere and ethos.

To get there from here will involve changes in attitude regarding 'what is normal' in the ministry of churches. All aspects must be involved, including how supporteach other, along with that of still-effective denominations that exist to encourage, faciliate and resources individual churches, regional groups and associations of churches.

Denominational leaders will not have all the needed resources on hand to dole out, if and as asked. Rather, denominational leaders and offices will serve more like that of computer routers (not a main-frame), directing pastors, leaders and congregations to the many resources, stories and models of 'freshChurch' where the missional task is being taken seriously and taken up.

Denominatonal leaders in their encouraging, catalytic and resourcing capacity will ask local church leaders and congregants: ‘How do you think new health, vitality and resultant growth could happen where you are situated? How can we help you with the necessary continuance and changes there? What is your contextual, unique mission? How can we help you discern and embrace ways of faithful response?
