As Christians, we live in this in-between mean-while, believing and hoping in God and His better Future even when so much of the evidence seems to be to the contrary. St. Paul writes, in Romans 8, that we groan as does the whole of Creation as we await God’s plan and timing, as we wait for the full redemption and release of God’s children, as made possible by the finished work of Jesus on the Cross at Calvary.

The Holy Spirit too groans within us, helping us as we pray; for we can’t, it seems, usually even get that right. So God helps, God heals, God gives us hope and patience and faith to keep on keeping on.
