Things may be awful at the time, but it gets better. Later, we reflect and note again the feelings, the sense of loss, the anger, the disappointment. But we may also remember how it steeled and strengthened us for life; how it helped us to grow.
The Old Testament character David wrote in a Psalm that although 'weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning.' Psalm 30:5
I think Woody Allen says the same thing really, or something very close, when he puts it forth that 'comedy is tragedy plus time . . .'
