Sometimes we seem to have our lives all together, just the way we like them, just the way we planned and worked hard to achieve. Some folk never manage to pull that off, but some of us do.

But even then, we can lose it all in moments.

The love of God and His power in the world does not preclude suffering. Things do not always go well; we know that too well.

Everything we have, that sustains us, that we enjoy, can be lost to us in mere seconds. Nothing truly lasts, but that’s not the end of the Story.

God’s love and purposes and plans will prevail. God loved job but God allowed some horrendous things to happen to him. We might not like that kind of god; apparently, it's the God of the Bible and there appears to be purposes that He has in mind, not to mention action or non-action from our perspective, that we will never fathom. Trust is a matter of, well, believing even though . . . even when  . . .

We want to be in God's care, near to His heart, immersed as best we can in what He is about. Only God lasts and only to be in Him is to assure our ongoing, our viability, sustainability, our ultimate health and welfare.

This broken Creation will become a new Creation. Till then, in this mean-while, things will continue to startle, challenge, arrest  and draw us to God’s embrace.

We messed it up but  God’s has made it better; will continue to do that until the Day of final fulfilment, completion and perfection of all things, including you and me.
