A Place to Simply Be

We all need such a place: what author Madeline L’Engle meant in the book of that name, Circle of Quiet.
We need a special place, a 'thin spot' a place to be away and just be - perhaps by a small brook in a green glade, at a well, within a copse of ancient trees, a place in the valley, or a hilltop or mountain field of wildflowers; some special place to us on God's green earth ' "a circle of quiet," wrote Madeleine, "from which there is no visible sign of human beings.
In that place, L'Engle continued: "I move slowly into a kind of peace that is indeed marvelous, annihilating all that’s made to a green thought in a green shade.'”
